An EGR delete stops the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system from sending exhaust gases back into the engine. This can be done in two ways:

  1. Software (Electronic) Delete
    • Your car’s software (ECU) is modified to keep the EGR valve closed at all times.
    • This tricks the engine into acting as if the EGR system isn’t there.
    • No physical parts are removed, making it harder to detect during inspections.
  2. Hardware (Physical) Delete
    • The EGR valve and pipes are physically removed or blocked off.
    • Metal blanking plates or special kits stop exhaust gases from entering the engine.
    • This prevents any carbon buildup from the EGR system.
